Yesterday, Chinese exposition i chose the topic on "More and more Singapore elderly are being abandoned by their children and the government is going to set some laws to punish these unfilial children. Discuss."
Then at night, i watch 前线追踪 also talk until about this topic.
I don't know how the children can bring themselves to do such a thing.
Their parents took care of them, raise them up, and make them so successful yet when they became successful, they throw their parents away into old folks home.
I watch until very sad lor.
They interview one old lady.
The interviewer ask" are you heartbroken?"
She was like "Of course heartbroken, how wouldn't i be? i have 2 sons and 1 daugher, the 2 sons never came to visit me and the daughter happy then come, not happy then don't come. hais. Don't talk le, later i will cry one."
I: Do you cry?
She: Of course will cry, how would i not cry? Every night i use tears to wash my face. (ha, ps direct translation) Is not as if i treat them badly, when they are sick, having fever, i whole night never sleep, just keep tounching their foreheads to check whether their fever has subside or not. Now, when i'm sick, none of them come to look at me."
I suspect she's already crying by here cus they never show her face.
Anyway, how can people nowadays be so cruel? Your parents take care of you and you can just throw them aside like that. Like quoted by a lawyer in another interview "even animals and beast know how to take care of their parents when they grow up, why can't humans do that?"
